Meet Montana: Becoming Dishwashable In a World At War With Itself
I did not become someone who suddenly didn't need a dishwasher by fighting the version of me that did.
That's not how this worked. I did not get anywhere by fighting the polarity within.
The change didn’t come from brute force, and it also didn’t come from intellectualized virtue signaling.
Regardless of the tactic, war was ineffective.
Meet Montana: When Love Is Hungry, It Hides Itself In Rescue
I had the remnants of a story, as it turns out, and the power behind my rescue efforts was being supplied sneakily by this lifelong wound still without its salve.
Dang it. As it turns out, I was not as healed as I thought I had been. And those cats showed up to reveal that.

Because story - despite all of its beautiful features to capture moments and provide a vessel within which they live forever - creates distance between you and the reality of the present moment.

As he explained the complicated but complimentary nature of Montana, he said:
“Montanans will watch you struggle and struggle. And only when it becomes clear that you’re going to drown will they rescue you.”
He wasn’t joking. He wasn’t being cruel. He was stating a fact.
